Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to let you know that I updated my FAQ section, so if you haven't checked it in a while you may want to take a look. Other pages you might like to see share what I love most about having long hair; and my personal hair tragedy that happened about ten years ago. Thankfully my hair and I have recovered since that awful day. I share my story to encourage others and to say that no matter what bad experiences you may have had with your hair, there is always hope!
Thank you for following me here and on Facebook, I love sharing with my friends around the world <3
Love, Andrea
Super Big Bun (plus what I do with my hair when I sleep at night)
Hi friends,
Thank you for the kind comments on my last post, I was very thankful for my friend suggesting I answer that question about why I love having long hair. Another friend asked on Instagram what I do with my hair at night when I sleep, so I answered in a Facebook post and will share here. Thank you for following my hair posts! Today I had braid waves from my braided ponytail yesterday. I slept in my braids last night, then undid them this morning and made my big bun without combing my hair out first.

And now, pictures of my big bun with wavy hair~ thank you, friends!

Bed-Head: What I do with my hair at night
- If my hair is in a braid, I usually go to sleep in my braid. If my hair is in an updo or bun, I will take it down from all the hair clips and bobby pins, then wrap my hair up into a loose cinnamon bun. But when I lie down with my head on the pillow, I unclip my hair and sleep with it loose. I don't usually comb my hair out right after taking it down. I'll wait to comb it out the next morning. But if I am having trouble with tangles, or my ends seem dry, I will comb my hair out and put coconut oil or argan oil on the ends, then pile it up on top of my head in a loose bun.
- The only time my night-time routine is different is when I wash my hair at night. After combing my hair out, I go to bed with wet hair and let it air-dry all night long. I try to sleep on my side with my hair draped across the pillow behind me, so it has the best possible chance of air-drying.

Mohawk Braided Ponytail~ plus what I love most about my hair
Hi friends,
Today I braided my hair in a 4-strand Mohawk braid, and continued my braid all the way down the length of my hair. I put my loose hair and my Mohawk braid into a mid-ponytail and braided the rest of my loose hair into two separate 4-strand braids. Then I took all 3 braids, folded them up once and made a waist-length braided ponytail. I love the way this Mohawk braid looks when combined with a ponytail rather than a bun, like I usually do.
On a separate note, a friend messaged me on Facebook and asked what it is that I love about my hair, and in particular what I love about having long hair. I appreciated such a thoughtful, considerate question, and wanted to share my answer here.
And now...my hair pictures from today! Thank you for reading this extra-long post, I hope that it has been insightful and encouraging <3

- I love the color of my hair, strawberry blonde~ not quite red and not quite blonde.
- I love when my hair is thick and even across the bottom, which is why I keep the ends trimmed.
- I love having bangs! And I love my accent piece that is longer on one side~ it adds interest and is a personal style statement.
- I love being able to fix my hair in so many different braids, buns, and hairstyles. The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to styling long hair.
- I love the uniqueness of having ankle-length hair. How fun to dress as Rapunzel for Halloween and use my own hair!
- I love having a thick braid. I read in a book once about a girl whose braid was as thick as her wrist, and that has always been my personal goal.
- I love that my long hair gives me a platform to meet new friends who also have long hair or are interested in long hair.
- I love being a source of encouragement and ideas for women and girls who are trying to grow their hair long, or are looking for ideas on how to fix their long hair.
- My hair makes me feel beautiful and special, which I think is important for every woman. I believe that each person has unique gifts, qualities, and features~ something that sets them apart from the crowd. Hair is a woman's glory. It makes me sad when I see a mother chop off her daughter's hair simply because it is inconvenient at times. I think that deep down inside, every girl wants to have long hair. I would encourage girls and women to grow their hair to a length they can manage and enjoy. That could be any length~ shoulder, elbow, waist, knee, whatever they personally love and want.
- My hair is my canvas, my creative outlet. I can't draw and I am not an artist, but with my hair I can create hairstyles and braids that are my own artistic expression.
- My hair makes each day interesting and new. After finishing my morning routine, I get to decide how I will fix my hair that day and then (hopefully) take hair pictures to post on my blog and Facebook and share with my friends around the world. I live in a very isolated part of the world, but that doesn't mean I have to be alone and removed from the rest of the world. On the contrary, my hair has given me an opportunity to share my look and style with friends around the world almost on a daily basis.
- Finally, my hair is a gift from God who created me. I thank Him for it, and for all the many blessings He has given me in my life.
And now...my hair pictures from today! Thank you for reading this extra-long post, I hope that it has been insightful and encouraging <3

Big Curly Bun
Hi friends,
This morning I put coconut oil on my hair, since I am planning to wash my hair tonight. Then I fixed it in a low curly bun with a center part. I basically looped my hair in sections, clipping each loop with a hair clip as I went. This almost the same technique from this video, except I'm using hair clips instead of bobby pins. Thanks for coming to see my new post! I appreciate every view, comment, like and share <3

Ballet Beautiful Bun
Hello everyone!
Some friends have asked about my workout routine, after seeing my muscles flex during hair videos ;-) I exercise with Ballet Beautiful workout DVDs each morning. Mary Helen Bowers has created a workout routine based on ballet exercises~ she was a professional ballerina for years and has a studio in New York City. I'm so excited about my new Ballet Beautiful slippers and t-shirt, I'm sure they will make my workouts even better!
My hairstyle is a French braided rope braid. I struggled making this braid for years until I learned the trick to make it not unravel. You take 2 sections of hair, wrap them around each other, then add hair to BOTH sections before wrapping them around each other again. Add hair to both sections, then twist them together. I used to add hair to 1 section, twist, then add hair to the other section, and my braid always unraveled. Now I know the secret, I can make this braid I have always admired on others.
Thank you for coming to see my new post! I hope you have a lovely day.
